Excavators
From 1.8 tonne minis on a trailer to 110 tonne mining-class machines, plus long-reach units out to 23 metres. Eighty in the fleet, mostly Cat, backed by Komatsu, Hitachi and Volvo.
Dump trucks
Articulated trucks from 20 to 50 tonne, 60 tonne rigids, ejector bodies for tight tip heads, and tracked tippers for the soft stuff. With 150-plus in the fleet, we've got the numbers for a big cart job.
Bulldozers
D3 through to D10, seventy of them. Bull blade or 6-way, single or multi-shank ripper, and GPS with full auto on selected units. Push scoops available too.
Graders, rollers and more
Cat M-series graders with GPS on every unit. Sakai, Bomag and Hamm rollers from 8 to 20 tonne. Water carts, soil compactors, scrapers, rock breakers, lighting towers and sweepers to round out the site.

The fleet is always turning over, which means we regularly have quality used machines available. Every one of them has been maintained by our own workshop team, so you know what you're getting.

Since day one, Neil's Hire has grown into one of the North Island's go-to names for heavy machinery and plant hire — for the DIY earthworks job and the major contractor alike.
We've put gear on some of the country's biggest builds. We were the trusted supplier on the Hamilton section of the Waikato Expressway with over 100 machines on site, and we've had more than 80 machines working the Ara Tūhono – Pūhoi to Warkworth project.
